The Boeing Company went belly-up back in 1997; the same day as the STUPID merger with McDonnell Douglas. Today, McD is not fooling anyone by trying to piggy back on the Boeing heritage name.

Douglas completely pulled a fast one on boeing leadership. By laying of their employees before they become qualified for the pension benefit And outsourcing most of their work. They showed a good profit.
The reality was they had no core engineering team who could compete and win another large major defense contract due to losing their expertise through either attrition layoffs or outsourcing. McDonald Douglas has never won a large defense contract since the merger. It was a horrible decision to purchase company in decline like that.

A lot of hope and praise for Boeing. Must be a new employe(less than 20 years). I was there when McD bought us out and started to implement their failed strategies that ruined their brand. I left on a VLO and regret it not. It's been good to me and has given me a great life financially. However, I see nothing but failure ahead because of the failed leadership decisions that will end in a McD collapse. I hope I am wrong but I bet my career on it that it wont turn around. Maybe a month here, a month there but there is too much faith lost in once great juggernaut. Good luck to all of you that still believe. I've seen too much to share your hope.
