Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Tons of SCABS in Oakland system

Saw a foreigner scab on a ladder splicing under an umbrella out of a Caravan on the way home today. Haven't met one of these guys that I can communicate with yet. Russian, Brazilian but no Americans. These guys are going to get hurt working like that

Typical spineless complainers. All talk on a message board but don’t ever open their mouth to be part of the solution.

Hey raise the rat. File a grievance and lose the bad attitude and maybe your union will get stronger. Don't like it or want to complain? Then move on. Union is what you make it.

Yes scabs are in Oakland. Raise the rat. Ohh wait we have a useless union . Let's train a third of Oakland techs to do fiber and have tools for half of them and not get compensation for it . Osha should be called when a ladder tech has to drop a pdo . Everybody should be trained in this shot show while at least 15 lab bucket trucks are on auction in top parking lot Oakland

I personally left last year. I miss the job, my coworkers. And believe it or not my customers. I took this job to heart. I just wish everyone single one of you all the best. Everyone was great. Until Altice took over . I will tell you this If you search hard you will make a much different life for yourself and you will probably live longer! The stress of Never knowing when you’re last day is was to much on my health. Health and family will always be my priority. I think the CEO eats cat then thinks about how many people’s lives he can ruin. He is some class act and should immediately be investigated for fraud on customers and stock holders! This company is completely fraud.

For the guys who went to contractors They AreNOT scabs! They did not want this. These were our co- workers who were screwed By Altice. All their trying to do is take care of them selves and family. As we all will do what we have to. Just respect ✊ one another.

Seems legit you should still be employed, but soon enough you will be working for them unfortunately. The job here is done The sooner you realize this and accept it you will be better off Good luck to you

Thanks for exposing the obvious, Flinstone. Point is you’re calling them something they’re not.

For the P.C. Police. We’re re-defining the word scab to mean contractor.

Nobody understands the meaning of "scab". The union guys do not seem to know what a "scab" is. A "scab" is/was/were the guys that left optimum and went to Charter while they were under strike and took their jobs. I am PRETTY sure Oakland hasn't gone on strike since being a union depot. Again, your contract says they are allowed to run the business as they see fit. They can contract work but cannot layoff and then hire more contractors. They can fire your d-mb a-s though and bring in more contractors. You all signed a card and are paying dues for something you simply do not even understand. I saw a bag of rocks doing an install the other day, it was as smart as you.
