Thread regarding General Atomics layoffs

Aerospace hit hard - GA going to get hit harder

The industry as a whole has been devastated…. Every major operation has been hit hard… looking at GA numbers and orders… do people thing ASI will survive? If it does survive I don’t see how it can remain in the same capacity - major changes will have to be made for the ASI to survive… will be an interesting next few years…. Don’t see how ASI can keep top talent

lol, a handful of people in the IT department did get laid off at my company all 6 of our programs are running strong with no layoffs in sight but that's just the work at HQ and things can change at a moments notice... given the state of things... buttttt i'm more interested in witnessing ASI's demise.

Lol… the 3 all had major layoffs… Boeing, NG, Lockheed… you may work for a contract that wasn’t impacted but everyone was impacted… GA - ASI only has one major contract so it’s survival is at stake…

Speak for your own company, i work for one of the major players and we are doing pretty good in fact our program just got more cash for this year. As for GA it appears that the air force is trying to phase out your bread and butter platform. Bottom feeder/99cent projects are going the way of the dinosaurs simply because they are not an effective deterrent to China and Russia. those who allocate the budget can't save your outdated platform for long, the money needs to go fund the future of American UAV development! Scary and nerve-racking time it must be at GA ASI, like in 2008 when the bigwigs in wall street knew their companies were hours away from total collapse.

Every major player in aerospace will need to change to survive…. ASI relied heavily on the cheap drone option thinking it had cornered the market - and it reality GA own the cheap drone market… but the market is no more and GA never had a backup plan in place…. Now GA will attempt to play with the big boys - something it has never done before. Will be interesting to see if GA can survive
