Thank you to the veteran for your service to this nation though.

Same thing happened at Chicago Ridge, it's why they closed everything down
The fact that he signed up for volunteer military service is beside the point. No one forced anyone to serve. When do we stop writing the check? How many more military discounts do we need to give to weekend warriors who never step one foot in a battle field. Give me a break.
@1squ It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, NOBODY deserves to be treated the way this veteran has been treated by an irresponsible, unreputable retailer. The fact that this customer is a veteran says more (or less) about Sears then it does the TV station.
One of the first things Eddie did when he walked in the door was order the removal of the “satisfaction guaranteed or your money back” logo from the large wall sign in the lobby at the Hoffman Corp office. Wasn’t that just so brilliant of him?
I work for loss prevention and we teach these tactics to associates in our store. If we make these scammers jump through enough hoops to get free merchandise, eventually they will tire and move on to a retailer that is easier prey.
Poor customer service for sure, however if this story had been written in April instead of a few days before Memorial Day, the word veteran would not have been used. Shame on the TV station for exploiting an elderly veteran for the benefit of online clicks
That is just pathetic. Eddie doesn’t even have a soul.
