I heard that they were eliminating the 30005 job code completely due to lack of skilled labor.

They were going to outsource the work to local preschoolers by end of 2022.

Quoted "Boeing would rather hire 30,000 mechanics with no experience then bring mechanics back Just so they could save a few dollars an hour on labor"
Save a few bucks here and there and later spend hundred millions for lawsuit / compensations and lose billions of dollar. I don't think BA would recall/rehire most of the laid-off employee like they did after 9/11 event since there's not many airplane program to support in PNW/Puget sound. Maybe find another BA position in cheaper, sunny states.

Boeing Needs A Competitor To The A321LR More Than Ever

Boeing and Airbus have been the two dominant commercial aircraft makers
for decades now.
The Airbus A320 created real competition for Boeing’s long-serving antiquated
737 line, that competition made the Airbus A320 the best. While driving Boeing
to criminal negligence with a wanton disregard for human life in a feeble attempt
to maintain market share for its 54 year old design

Boeing recognizes this and is in discussions, once again,
about a New Mid-Market Airplane (NMA). Not everyone is convinced this makes sense, given the current availability of the A321 series and the long time to
market for a brand new airplane.
Airlines are making decisions now about how long-haul traffic may return, and
what routes will stay and which markets will be carried through hubs versus
flown non-stop.
To kept the lead on wide-body aircraft even as Airbus continued to take share
of the narrow-body market. The well-documented troubles of the Boeing 737 MAX created a share gain for Airbus that will take Boeing years to recapture,
if that is even possible.

In Other Words:
Don’t hold your breath waiting for a Call Back

Boeing’s glorious leaders don’t believe in karma
They believe ritual sacrifice to improve their state
So they will be calling back one at a time until the situation improves

If we had competent employees who were laid-off that would have found
Work elsewhere by now, such is the Boeing rabble

What a pickle, if there was no Airbus we would not need China
If we were under competent management the Max murders wouldn't have been
If we were under competent management the KC-46 tanker would be flourishing
If we were under competent management the 787 Dream-scammer would be thriving
If we were under competent management the 777X would be off the ground
If we were under competent management the Star-scammer would be thriving
