I left a year ago and I’m currently happily employed. I ran into my older manager and he asked if I or anyone I knew needed a job. I politely declined and told him most of the people I know are already employed. When I was there staffing seemed to be a huge issue. Has it gotten worse in a year?

Oh it’s bad… No one is applying. And think about it. Why would anyone want to work at Giant Eagle. It’s an outdated job that offers you nothing. The pay is just slightly above the minimum wage. The company tries to solve all of its money problems by cutting hours and who can live off of 18hrs a week. I think years of slave labor, having 1 employee do the job of 2 and 3 and HUGE profits have caught up to Giant Eagle. The workforce out there knows working at Giant Eagle is a dead end job.
Lol that's funny. Did they try to press charges for slapping him with a loaf of bread?
I left 2 years ago. It was so toxic. I use to work stock, which was fine. The assistant manager who was almost always on my shift would tell me things weren't straight enough or I wasn't doing it fast enough...just constantly belittling.
The day I was going to turn in my two weeks here he comes again behind me talking trash about my shoes. I happened to be by the bread and I lost it. I grabbed a loaf and slapped him across the face.
That dude was so shocked 😳
Needless to say... didn't need to turn in my two weeks. Much happier now.
