No Merritt this year. Glad we all worked so hard and for all the extra hours we worked. Your welcome staples :(

We don't fear change, we fear loss. If you're still there, what are you worried about losing? Most likely you have much more to gain. GET. OUT.
My last day was a month ago. I was offered severance or the opportunity to re-apply for my old job -- at the same pay. (I never received anything less than 'Exceeds expectations' in my performance reviews, to give you some idea of what that is worth...)
Interviewed elsewhere, received multiple offers, all with base salary between 10-15% more than my current rate (plus actual equity).
I do greatly appreciate though that since joining, around the time of the Sycamore acquisition, I have been able to be paid almost-market-rate for working around 5 hours a week.
As they sometimes say, the real treasure are the naps we took along the way.
Bye!
Ever since SP purchased us it just keeps getting worse. For a couple years now I've listened to and tried to believe my Manager. "It's going to get better" I'm spitting out the kool-aid and going to start seriously looking for another job. It's heartbreaking to see the culture destroyed at a Company that I used to be proud to work for. For those of you reading that are quota driven.. go check out the spike in the Q3 quota. Enough is enough!
I get the feelings --- but everyone that is still at Staples is on a sinking ship. Complaining about a raise is like saying to the Captain "Oh I know the ship is sinking, but the brochure said I'd get cheesecake and that makes me mad". i.e. it's basically expected that you're not getting cheesecake / merit raises!
I say this with a heavy heart. It's sinking, so leave while you can! SP does not care about you, your family, your bills, your health, your anything. Take care of you and yours and get something new while you can! SP will take care of themselves and theirs!
Don't fear the change!
What?!?! Who got a bonus? Which business units?!?! I was told no-one got a bonus!
Good thing we got a bonus or that would have really hurt.
You still have jobs what are complaining about?
No raises because we have to pay SD the millions for his severance package.
Great Outlook for its employees. Staples is a joke and needs to close its doors for good!
Maybe Harvard should showcase an article on what incompetent Leaders do to a once great company!
Staples has changed so much. Not worth the stress and heartache. Go somewhere where you can be appreciated and valued.
You're an id--t if you are still there. Seriously. Sorry to be blunt. Maybe RS will come back.
You work for a private equity company with a reputation of destroying company culture while cashing out. Leaders will tell you to sit tight and things will get better after the sale. All the while, it is long hours, lost clients, and reduced pay. If you are not looking, you are the fool.
And your still working for Staples!
Do you really believe it is going to get better?
Let me ask you this,
Are you too old ?
Are you too lazy?
Are you someone who is scared of change?
Why would any have decent worker stay at Staples?
Just be happy that you work at such a great company who cares so deeply about all their valued associates.
Seriously though, there are a lot of companies hiring right now. I would seriously consider applying to a company that truly does value their associates.
Wow. Insane
