Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

I’m not seeing it

I have been with the company for almost a year and, to be frank, I’m not seeing all the complaints that are being posted here. I enjoy my work and it’s challenging. I get on well with my team and our work environment is not as toxic as some claim theirs is. So what’s the deal? Is the entire company really as horrible as everyone here claims it is? Or is it just disgruntled ex-employees?

No doubt there are several disgruntled ex-employees on this forum who are venting (I am one of them). Obviously, it is human nature to see only -ve when they are disgruntled, which is why folks will seem more -ve than reality.

OP it is surprising that you are not seeing anything -ve so far in Juniper. Are you in software engineering and if so have you had the privilege to deal with AA? Please note that challenging work != interesting work. No doubt, work in Juniper is challenging. It is extremely hard/challenging to get even simple work done due to all the politics/clueless managers.

To be able to see, you must first look.

Although things maybe good in your own department, reaching out to other orgs is where you’ll get your true information. Just because one department is good doesn’t mean the entire org is the same.

Also, perception is not reality. Just because you perceive things to be good, is that the reality? Are you seeing things as they actually are or are you seeing them how you want them to be?

There will always be good, mediocre and toxic teams in any company. You may be in one of the better teams.

A lot of us here have spent 5+ years at juniper, and just not seen the same professional and financial growth as our peers at FAANGs.
