I mean, big layoffs? They may not even need cuts given how many people have left on their own lately.

Don’t forget that Unlimited and the layoffs it spurned happened because of somebody’s wacky phone call.
The biggest problem at Cengage is that if someone in the Fuhrer’s circle gets a wacky idea that includes laying off 50 people the next day they’ll go for it.
I was in a meeting once where the exec talked about wanting x percent of turnover a year. A department can be profitable and necessary but they’ll be slashed like nothing if that’s what the plan this week is.
I fully agree. We are the quintessential example of a company whose mission is to not make money.
If anything they are hiring to replace the employees they laid off ostensibly a cost savings maneuver
I’m so proud to work for a mission based company. And the mission is not to make as much money as possible. That’s pretty cool.

The comment from the person who claims they were ‘just hired’ seems so obviously bogus (how would they know whether ‘the best people are gone’ if new to the company?) I think nearly all the negative Cengage comments on this site come from one or two disgruntled sales reps who were let go and didn’t read the finer points of their severance agreement.
I was just hired and now I wish I would've found this site before I accepted the offer. I see clearly now why everyone here is so low IQ and befuddled, it's like living in a dysgenic nightmare, all the best people are gone and those that are left are barely functional. Has anyone else like me considered opening up an online organic soup shack?
