As if there are enough URCs working for Crown to even notice their exodus. The ones that are, aren't often in leadership.

If they're fleeing, they're escaping the over the top workload and finger pointing by their managers. Not only in the field, but in the office. Blaming their staff for not meeting the KPIs, while not removing barriers to success and three times the workload since September.
People aren't treated well and many seek other opportunities where they are appreciated. Not to mention, contractors being forced to go due to the 3 year limit and not a word of purple badges for anybody.

Yes, Fiber/Network is the black sheep and continues to cost money. But the things they're doing to people below management level are insane and soul-crushing.
It makes me sick.

To poster above, thanks. Can't they just say "not white guys"?

Too many alphabet groups to keep up with.

I don't think there will be much of a reduction in small cell, if any. Keep in mind we estimate and design small cells as well, a lot of the construction has pushed out but that's probably 20% (at most) of the work load involved in crown building small cells.

Yes, some people will need to have less calls with GCs but the bulk of their workload has been on the Verizon contracts anyway. Construction is mostly just relying info, it's not much work.

Funny, I was wondering what URC meant as well. I still think we see some kind of reduction with small cell, especially since Crown significantly reduced their forecast number recently.

I don't get it. If I understand all the comments, Crown Castle had 3 "small" lay offs over a few months, which combined represented about 15% of their work force, not counting all the contractors. So why did Crown Castle have open reqs, then lay offs, then a TON of open reqs, AND then they back full time employees as contractors. It sounds like Crown is too busy playing games with the head count. I remember when Crown Castle used to have a strong culture, and now it seems to be a revolving door. I really hope these are just rumors and that no one else is let go because the leadership in this company needs to be cleaned out before the hardworking men and women that put in all the effort to make this a great place are left out in the cold.

It makes sense to downsize the colossal mistake called the Fiber Group which is bleeding money in several areas. National Sales? Federal? Channel? Really? Besides those folks getting paid a ton of money what revenue are they bringing in? Tampa and several other areas have a revolving door of sales reps coming and going. Lightpath has cleaned out what's left of the NE sinking ship. Jay won't admit he made a mistake until Elliot Mgt slaps him around again.

I haven't heard rumors but the questions being asked of people leaders make me think someone at the top is reviewing headcount again. There have been a lot of detailed questions about who's doing what. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens.

They are probably waiting to see how many people decide not to report back to their respective offices first before going down this road. That would make the decision easier on them.

Maybe, if they are smart they will pack up fiber and network and send them on their way?
