Everybody seems worried about layoffs but in reality, we have layoffs very seldom. Instead, people are getting fired all the time and many of them for ridiculous things/no reason at all. I think Macy's has no need for layoffs when they can just fire whoever they want and nobody asks any questions about whether it was justified or not.

If you aren’t happy working at Macy’s go elsewhere. There are millions of open jobs, millennials who are unemployed won’t be looking for jobs till January 2022 when Biden unemployment aka paying people to do nothing ends.
Yep.. lo----e macys railroading their hard workers.. Here's how to look for clues on whos going to be fired next.
1: look at the mall hours vs macys hours.. one mall has closed at 8pm as well as macys.. another mall 13 miles away closed at 9:30 pm as well as macys.. one mall is doing way better.. Cutting store hours is a sign they will be cutting staff and store hours ,
2: Less inventory.. Less stuff they send the less you can sell to make your numbers.. then they say " you didn't make your numbers bye bye bye"
3: fake customer complaints... "Oh Karen here our best customer said you looked at her weird so this is going to HR " next thing you know your walking out the door for good
4: Shop Integrity : AP says you stole, discounted, walked funny, fa---d , used to many coupons , breathed weird , didn't report a lost item, showed up to work on time. Did your job better than 90 percent of coworkers. etc.
5: There has been "budget cuts" and you who made all your numbers for the past 40 years are being cut.. but Karen over here who worked here for 3 months who calls out a lot will be kept .
6: Your dept. looks terrible yet your the only one working their for past 8 months with zero help from anyone and no time to clean, or eat let alone sleep .
7: Your dressed funny... you need a haircut. are you feeling ok? You must be on dr-gs ... no wait you make too much a hour my bad!.. your gone !.
8:You called out once in the past 10 years we feel you are not reliable like "Al-kee" who comes in and barley does anything, complains all day, gossips , never smiles and looks like a depressed bum.
9: You went against the Ops/vs or store Manager and talked back or didn't like a course of action.. next thing you know your being written up for walking, breathing and speaking
10: Your coworkers make fun of you daily in front of you and behind your back. then one day you crack a joke on them.. your fired. !!
Now how to keep your job at Macys..
1: No longer care , barley do anything walk around like a depressed zombie
2: kiss bu-tt as much as possible , listen to everyone's complaining and cr-p day in and out .. don't say anything back.
3: don't throw anyone under a bus for anything
4: don't use bathroom or take lunch break..
5: open as macy credits as possible and play their internal game of time wasting bull-sh-it

I am not the OP, but I have seen 1/2 our dock crew fired 2 wks ago on the same day (they waited til they clocked in to tell them). They were told it was due to "theft of time". IOW, they didnt clock out for meals as is required & they did it consistently. Doesn't sound like 'no reason' to me.
