Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

Dear Customers - Your Project is late because...

Dear Customer,

I want to apologise that your project will be delivered late. As you know we have a world leading engineering team but they are hyper busy at the moment. The calendars are full. My current calendar is as follows:

Monday 19th July - all day session on "Recognising Micro-aggressions in the work place" delivered by some hippy throwback to the 1960’s

Tuesday 20th July - celebrating Pride Month successes with an all day review of the virtue signalling sessions that we undertook during Pride Month.

Wednesday 21st July - Self Criticism session in the morning to explore why I am unintentionally biassed against my colleagues and customers despite working with a multi-national trans-global team for over 20 years. Afternoon session will be "Recognising that Self Criticism sessions will lead to a more inclusive and diverse workplace”

Thursday 22nd July - An all day session encompassing multiculturalism in the CAS domain with the major question being "Are secured devices discriminating against those who cannot afford to buy entertainment legitimately?”

Friday 23rd July - This is our day off as we have aligned calendars globally within the business so as to avoid any discrimination either intentionally or otherwise. In fact our weekend now spans from Thursday evening to Monday morning globally and we are forbidden to access any electronic devices for any purpose so as not to upset anyone at all at all at all.

So as you can see - your project is way WAY down on my priority list and since I won’t be getting a bonus unless I swallow all of the above nonsense then that’s the way it is going to stay.

So now actual racism - the George Floyd reference.

This used to be a decent company. Maybe failure is making it toxic?

HR - I think you have some work to do.

Where do you draw the line folks? Right now it is “do the courses and keep quiet” or you won’t get your bonus. Next step - kneel before starting work to the honour of St. George of Fl.. Or you get no holidays. PEOPLE you need to rise up and draw the line. Get yourselves organised. Start a Union.

I’m picturing someone from HR watching this bin fire with their head in their hands.

Really disappointed by this thread. Ethics and success in business are not mutually exclusive. These dinosaur attitudes might have been acceptable once but they are not going to help us succeed today.

Probably some people need to think about retiring to chew over past glories and watch the modern team flourish.

This is a silly argument. Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows that this kind of training is total BS. No one believes in it. Management insist on it because it protects the company from lawsuits and it’s part of modern corporate fashion. Everyone knows that there are some truths that you just aren’t allowed to voice. Let’s try discriminating truly on grounds of ability.

It is coercion - no course = no bonus. The CEO said this.

"the practice of persuading someone to do something by using force or threats“. Good Lord! All these things were voluntary - the paranoia here is hilarious but the problem that people seem to have with a bit of information on how we can impact others and a way to avoid hurting unintentionally is disturbing. Sure some of it was basic (hippy throw back - Lol) - but I did take a few things away from it. Maybe you’re all perfect? Highly doubt it but, good for you. Such a disappointing thread.

Avenger77 - finally someone with some Common sense and also a sense of humour. These woke knob-jockeys are dull, grey, humourless automatons. Shoving this woke nonsense down people’s throats does not make them better - it makes them resent.

Original Poster (OP) Micro-Adviser is spot on zipdedoo. The rub here is that he already knows how to treat his fellow men and women, and has been doing so throughout his life. He doesn't need some corrupt political organization, which has a completely different agenda (divide the people, not unite them) to tell him what to do. He's "awakened", but not WOKE. Get it?

Woah! Maybe you're the one that needs to wake up. If you think that supporting minority groups or those who've previously been bullied or been treated unfairly or even violently is a bad thing then perhaps you should crawl back into that cave where you clearly belong and never come out. Maybe you'll get your marching orders so that your unsuspecting colleagues don't have to put up with your cr---y attitude.

Just a thought - perhaps you are behind on your work because of spending too much time composing lengthy hate-filled rants?

Have they really got so many courses?

Funnily enough what “woke” means to decent people is “don’t be an a-s hat”. What was it about the idea of being decent to other people that most offended you?
