Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Part time experiment is over!

The great part experiment is over! We again will be hiring full time as a company. Verizon admits defeat! Now fire the damn genius that thought this plan would work. They have cost this company so many lost customers, employees and so much missed revenue over the last 6 months. Stock holders will feel the effects for years. Alas, someone will probably get a bonus for coming up with the idea to hire 40 hour workers again. Now stop stretching store hours!!!! 3 people working a 10 hour period isn't better for anyone. Only having 1 or 2 available reps working is a loss for EVERY customer that walks in during that time period.... If you don't have 3 reps minimum at any one time simply adjust the hours. Stop pushing stupidity. Figure the easy stuff out for goodness sake. Stop letting Ops leadership push us in the wrong direction. These Ops people have 3 calls a week to figure out how to tie their shoes and we let them make people decisions?? They are in Ops because they have zero people skills. VPs.... time to step up!

Imagine tax a free weekend (happened)! Minimal to no inventory - especially Android products - physically in the store (happening)! Typically minimal staff = 1 key holder and 1 sales person and VZW sends out a text, “It’s tax free weekend. GO TO THE STORE …”. Are you kidding?
For a year VZW has been pushing “order on line”, but when there is no staff and no inventory they send out a mass text to all account holders specifically to drive customers to the store??? Recipe for creating stressed employees, angry customers and bad survey scores.

The structure in place 5yrs ago was effective. They wanted to save a penny but loosing quarters instead. These prehistoric leaders riding out until retirement is and have destroyed what was once a vibrant upbeat company to work for.

Nah, Verlieson wants it's stores to fail. It is so obvious. People equate going to a cell phone shop with going to the DMV.

Said it before and will say it again. The brain trust is very book smart and have great ideas on paper but do not have the streets smarts to put it into place.

We learned that lesson already. And one day soon, someone else who has no idea what it is like to work in a store will have that great idea again.
