Thread regarding Thomson Reuters layoffs

How much higher pay/ better benefits did you get after you left TR?

I got an offer with pay significantly higher than here, almost 40 percent. I couldn’t believe it when I got the offer. Of course, I accepted it and I will only be here for a few more days. I don't even think that I will have to work much harder for that pay than I did here because it is impossible to have more workload than I had at TR.

Congrats on your new role! I got a 25% increase and same PTO and similar benefits. Apart from the pay increase, the biggest intangible benefit for me has been working somewhere where my work and dedication are valued and appreciated. My only regret about leaving TR is that I didn't do it sooner.

A friend that left TR got higher pay at the new company but said the benefits at TR were better.

I’ve been hearing 40-50% more, similar bonus, plus equity for people joining smaller companies or taking executive positions at VC/PE-backed firms.

When I left, I was right under a 42% increase in salary for my new position. The sucky part was the trade off for time off. Instead of my almost 6 weeks off per year, I had a little less than 3. It was a rough adjustment but when you don’t dread waking up every day, it makes it a little easier of a pill to swallow.

Congrats and best of luck in the new position!
