This is my last week at this steaming pile. It’s been fun and horrible all at the same time. These last couple of months have been the hardest. Watching great people one by one walk away and seeing what was once a great place to work turn into what it is today is absolutely devastating. I go to lunch and see people that I know should never be in leadership roles and have the job they do because someone left a vacancy. I also see others that are just stuck because they are going to have to relocate in order to find a comparable job and they feel like they are trapped and are just holding on to a glimmer of hope that things may get better. The culture here has turned toxic and has brought out the worst in people. Fortunately for me, I have options. Wish you all the best.

I'd leave if I could! I'm one of those who feels trapped still.
The other day I read that Abraham Lincoln's law partner wrote an autobiography in which he described Lincoln's marriage as a "burning, scorching living he-l."
I thought to myself that that was a perfect description of me and my friends' time working at CHK
There are MANY people leaving. But that is by design. Fewer people to layoff later and the people that will remain really don't have anywhere to go because they will be the ones that can't leave the industry, strike out on their own, or make anywhere near the amount of money CHKs inflated salaries provide
It must be a real torture to be stuck in that wreckage, knowing that you’ll are still employed on borrowed time.
The lay-off was certainly a shocking event, but the feeling of liberation that follows afterwards can’t be described with words
Good for you and good luck. If anyone thinks they will see any LTI or severance going forward they might want to open their eyes on what all is going on.
