I used to think the IP was valuable but most of the patents are pre-cloud. No need to acquire for the customer base since they are planning to move off Teradata.

Can anyone name a company that would want this mess? Really? Companies are smarter than that with their time and money.
They'd need to fire a lot more than 95% of the executives. Almost everyone director level or higher is only at that position because they kissed the right behinds.
That deal is off. Check in the news. But to your other point, if anyone bought TD assuming it was not hostile, who do you think would negotiate the terms and what would they ensure for themselves? Surely not the safe continuation of employment for you and me. Who knows, maybe that was even the main reason the SAS deal fell off - they wouldn't guarantee glorious positions for the ELT in the new company. So then SAS turned around and said we're not for sale...
