Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Under-the-radar layoffs

People who think things are going great and layoffs have been few and far between are not paying attention. There have been constant layoffs at HPE for years, only they are no longer grouped into major rounds. Instead, they are laying off people in small groups, one team or unit at a time. Ask around if you don't believe me. If you think you are safe, you need to rethink that position.

I agree you can't make a career of HP(E/I) anymore but if they pay you enough money, why not work there? Extract all the money you can and when it doesn't work for you anymore, leave. Don't worry about loyalty in any direction - only money and benefits.

Unfortunately, this is what I'm seeing as well in our business unit. We just laid off a QA group (30 people) in Synergy-related group.

True, they want to hire IT people. Who in the right frame of mind would join such a rot? Just look at their open positions and how many applicants they have. Mostly in single digits

True statement. The layoffs are continuing in discreet batches so few people notice. Meg’s goal to eliminate anyone who has been there too long or is perceived to be ‘old’ is still going on under Neri.
Why would anyone looking for a career join such a company?
