Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Dropping like Flies !!

My eyes popped out at how many sales manager/captains and store managers and ops/visual are all lurking for a new gig on LinkedIn. is it really this bad at macys now?
it seems people who use to be macys zombies are now cutting the chord and venturing out into the unknow and taking big risk to get out of this place.. I think macys is going to turn into sears and kmart.. once everywhere now nowhere.

Yes, great strategy. Store Managers and MBA's were asked to create LinkedIn profiles to post job opening and talk about how great it is to work at Macy's. No other managers were asked to create profiles, so if you are seeing Sales Manager and OVM profiles, it's not company related. Funny thing is, many of these new profiles are being used by competitors to recruit our STM's and MBA's, our district has lost three people from it so far.

to the poster below.. it didn't backfire on macys.. they conned everyone into making a LinkedIn profile cause they knew they would get offers from other companies.. macys doesn't want to give packages.. they want you to leave

I'm sure some are trying to get out of Macy's but another possible reason you are seeing many Macy's sales managers and captains on LinkedIn, is that they were asked to create a profile on LinkedIn. Maybe a red badge can elaborate further on the specifics, I wish I could remember the specifics but a former sales manager told me about it 3-4 months ago. He told me that after creating it, other companies began to recruit him 😂 even though he was not looking for another job at the time. I guess in some ways, it backfired on Macy's. By the way, in the last few months, all the sales managers at the store I worked at, except for one, have since left Macy's.

MBA here, no one wants to admit that we have a problem with how long it takes us to hire a person because we spent so much on the new Phoenix system. Jeff, doesn't want to hear it, so none of the leaders in the field want to hear it. Our division had a call a few weeks ago hosted by our DVP and some crazy MBA who just lied and tried to tell us that their store was doing same day hiring from a job fair. It is literally impossible to hire someone on the same day using the new system, but the DVP and Store Manager were both acting like, yeah, yeah, that's how you do it. Never seen such BS.

As a red badge I can say that if one more person tells me “Get more staff” I may fire back. What do you want us to do? I can not make people apply nor force a job onto someone that does not exist. 5-7 times a day I get a disgruntled customer wanting to speak to a manager about the “conditions” and the “lack of staffing”
I give up and do not have much more to give. Going to work and being yelled at and degraded about things out of your control is not a pleasurable experience. Most I know on the management level are seeking employment elsewhere through Linkdin and other venues

We haven't had much in the way of company repair guys since the strike here in N. Cal and both of the stores I have worked at are like a sweat box. Managers all have fans in their offices and spend most of their time in there, can't really blame them we had someone almost pass out because it's so hot on the upper floor.

I like the stock, just really hot In the stores the though. Clothes sticking to your body and stuff. Might be better off staying home in the air conditioning and online shopping.
