You are supposedly getting wage reviews in August. This company struggles to find new help and finally realizes they are behind thier competitors in paying wages.
In other words we've been screwing you, the employees, for years because we're greedy b_$tards. Now all of a sudden you're valuable to us because the labor market is extremely tight and we now are forced to compete for workers. Sorry Hy-Vee, but too little too late. The work/life balance sucked along with your micro managing culture, and cheap a$$ pay. No matter how hard you worked, how organized and efficient you were, it was never enough. They wanted more..more..more. You're department or store results could be stellar but at the end of the inventory period you were made to feel small and under their thumb and could be crushed anytime they felt like it.
Area directors on up..ALL the way to the TOP, be more like a coach and offer encouragement. And I don't mean a Bobby Knight type of coach. Got it RE?

Ridiculous for RE to announce the wage increases for all stores if it didn’t include everyone. Most did not receive an increase.
Many are looking for jobs elsewhere now. Company is going to be hurting even more for staff now that they lied.

Working for them for 3 plus years as a full timer and found out new part timers are making $2.00/hour more than me.

At our store, and I'm sure we won't be the only one, management will be cutting hours to compensate for any wage increases that may be coming down the pike. This has already been announced so it isn't speculation. So, of course, more work will be piled on existing employees because horror of horrors, they can't allow anything to happen that will cut into managerial bonuses.

They're having trouble hiring people now. Just wait until people start having hours cut back and the mass exodus intensifies.

I've seen some of what you describe. There was an AVP in the CR area that can definitely be described as a bully. He led by intimidation. He gets off by making you feel stupid. I suppose it makes him feel better about himself. He won't hesitate to completely berate a part time kid for something a part timer would have absolutely no control over. He's still in CR as a district director. Total a$$. I bet many of us in CR can guess who.

The wage review is stupid, it’s for part timers making under $12 an hour and full timers making under $15. Forever one else who has worked years to make a decent living, you get nothing

OMG,YOU ARE SO SO RIGHT.IN ALL ACCOUNTS.THEY DEMEAN YOU AND TRY TO PUT YOU DOWN ANY WAY THEY CAN.YOU HAVE TO HAVE VERY THICK SKIN TO WORK FOR THIS COMPANY.NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO WORK FOR.
