BJ and the rest of HR are not strategic and for some reason don't even trust each other. We have American HR looking after UK workers. It's so bad that the North Sea just had a huge conversion of contractors bc a 3rd party came in and told them (HR) they weren't compliant with laws. So now they have to hire a bunch of contractors and HR is complaining of the hard work they have to do when it was their fault for not staying on top it.

This thread with 30+ replies over several days (not to mention the previous one that was canned) overwhelmingly shines the spotlight on the incompetence of APA leadership. It's a shame because the old Apache (pre-2012, and more like pre-Mariner Energy) was a great place to be. Imagine what these "leaders" must think when they see feedback like this pushing it right back in their face.

Agree. It’s time to go. And the head wags the rest. You have that right.

But disagree re BJ. She is an admin suited for personnel. She would not make a good VP HR at a Company of any size or clout. Hence, why she’s where she is. Not an ounce of strategic or innovative thinking in her body.

Not to defend any of this company's behavior the past 6.5 years, but not all of the higher-ups are bad people or even bad execs. They, like you, are caught in the yes-man web of bullshittery. For instance, BJ would be a great head of HR at any other company, but she knows she'd be gone in a heartbeat if she spoke out or disagreed openly with the regime. It makes it hard to tell who is worth a sh-t, but some (a minority, I will admit) of them are actually smart, good people.

Only solution is to cut the head off, and it's baffling that it hasn't happened yet. APA shareholders will never go activist though because they are passive and dgaf.

Most importantly, you should all be looking for new jobs. It's time to go.

Who has been approached by ME in Midland for after-hours parties at his place? Seems like this may have been a regular thing out west.

Loving the plea of the self-righteous! If you don’t like what you read, if this site makes you “disgruntled” (you use this word a lot in this board, right?), go back to leading your pro-APA pep rallies, and leave this site to those of us who aren’t too blind to see the truth.

I think you all should start a new network and call it disgruntled employees network. I am so disgruntled because everyone else is getting promoted or hired and my da is getting overlooked. You jealous id--ts.

TC deserves a demotion. He would be a Land Analyst if he wasn’t JC’s BFF for the past umpteen years.
The guy is not at all qualified for the jobs he has been given.
Makes accusations he cannot substantiate, leads a team going nowhere, and is about as innovative as a Bic pen.
He deserves the best pushed down and pushed out. He and his BFF (GF) KB are both taking space that valuable hires/reshuffles could fill.

Who is to say if he wouldn’t (or hasn’t) have slept with a guy? His house in Midland had a lot of rooms and I presume many beds as well.

It’s still a diversity promotion since the VP wouldn’t have slept with a male?

“ He is also one of the primary reasons why Apache promoted an underqualified and poor performing completions engineer to a position of power for diversity reasons. ”

It wasn’t for diversity reasons. It was for personal reasons that, for those who aren’t a fan of open marriages, tend to be grounds for divorce.

And the whole submarine engineer thing was a complete disaster. I still don’t understand how or why he got hired—was it all because of a stupid book?

I’m genuinely confused by this. She adds zero utility. And it’s not just her, anyone in that silly, made-up position would be. We have wayyyyy too many layers of management as it is. As others have said, her history here represents billions squandered and 100s of talented individuals leaving or being forced out since 2016.

Does the silencing her have any merit to it? Can’t the plaintiffs’ attorneys depose whomever they wish?

Does anyone know what TC did to deserve the demotion? Seems like a pretty big kick down the corporate ladder.

I pray for those having to work for SR. Another classic diversity hire.

How in the world did anyone think it was a good idea to hire back one of the key players in the company destroyer that was Alpine AFTER she already declined a job during project descend and she was paid out an executive compensation severance? This lady has been on the job hunt for 1.5 years and no company will touch her with the stench of Alpine still lingering, but sure, let’s hire her to the top ranks back at APA. She is bad at her job, a horrible human to be around AND has 0 loyalty.

ME gone is addition by subtraction regardless who replaced him. The guy got ran out of BP and was a primary driver in how poor the Permian performed for years. The amount of value lost by him and FT in Permian is only overlooked because of what a joke Alpine was.

He is also one of the primary reasons why Apache promoted an underqualified and poor performing completions engineer to a position of power for diversity reasons. That lady refused for years to properly manage completions and somehow was promoted to VP after 5+ years of horrible completions results compared to every other Permian peer. ME also allowed this diversity promotion to hire a SUBMARINE ENGINEER, with 0 relevant oil and gas experience, as supervisor that was paid more then most engineers on staff.

Everyone knows that the majority of APA’s executive group is a joke, however, ME may have been the worst of the bunch. Anyone saying otherwise was simply one of his minions that should also be on the chopping block.

It's funny...if you ranked the 4 Permian Region VP's by competency, JC would rank a distant fourth. I'd go FT, ME, MB..........JC. Yet somehow JC is responsible for the exit of the other 3. What a clown.

These weak leaders will do almost anything to prevent promotion from with-in the ranks. There was a clear line of succession with the tall guy moving into the role that they just gave to our returning petulant geo-tech, opening up a management role that they could have given to 10 different people deserving of a chance to prove themselves (even with our decimated bench). Leadership is a closed club of cronies that will never let organic growth and advancement of their people for any number of small minded, self serving reasons.

The female in Midland should at most be a manager. No other company would employ someone w her weak experience at that level.
Our CEO should maybe be a VP.

It’s time to pack it in and look for an employer who can hang in this industry. Apache really is junk rated, by Wall Street, by employees, by everyone.

Probably paying her tons of money so that she’ll say what they want or keep her mouth shut in the Alpine lawsuit.

Deleting posts like these shows they're either true or the company can't take criticism because their egos are too fragile. Either way, we outnumber them.

The kingdom is bigger than the rulers and the peasants are super unhappy. True leaders would tackle these issues, level the field and press forward. Not sl------r the lambs like dictators. The majority of our "leadership" is atrocious. JC, SR, CB, BJ, JJ, MM I'm talking to you.

No one else will hire her, so we may as well go ahead and do it…. A few quick months after paying her to to away.

Hilarious.

Mongoloid- incredibly offensive, especially since you are incorrect.
The Company can compel the Site to cease and desist if they believe a post may create harm for someone, legal liabilities for either, are defamatory in nature (using the word mongoloid, you piece of trash) or are slanderous.

I used to work at Apache, my job was to iron these things out (and paid money to parties to secure the “Top Workplace” spot, btw), so this is factual.

Yep, they deleted my post yesterday. If there was a comment that was out of line, why not just delete the comment? Otherwise, what's the point of posting here if Apa still has any ability to moderate things?

Lesson learned, save the post, post again. Lol.

I'm curious who SR will bu-t heads with first.
