Thread regarding Juniper Networks Inc. layoffs

If someone can't find a job now...

should he/ she be concerned?
There are a lot of people who say that the job market is great at the moment, and on the other hand, there are a few people from Juniper that I personally know who have not been able to find a job for months. Where's the catch? Is the job market still not that good yet or maybe some people are too picky?

The job market is hot at the moment, if someone is unable to land a job in such a market, he/she should be really concerned. The reason for this is Juniper tech stack is horridly outdated due to which SW engineers in Juniper do not have the skills necessary to work in the hot companies that are hiring right now. My advice would be to update your skills, leetcode hard and get the he-l out of Juniper. When the tech bubble eventually bursts, it would be almost impossible for SW engineers with obsolete skills to get a job.

Are they failing the interviews or not getting interviews at all ? This is the hottest tech expansion in history as evidenced by the trillion dollar valuations of big tech companies. The massive growth rate has tech companies struggling to hire. It's the best tech job market in history, thank to feds printing trillions, and way hotter than the dot com days. Dot com days (inflation adjusted) never offered 500K+ for 6 YOE SWE and 800K for IC isn't uncommon. That being said, while getting interviews is easy, securing an offer at a FANG or equivalent companies require preparation.

Interviews are getting tough, you need to gruel yourself at leetcode to secure a job.

Theres infinity many reasons for someone to be struggling to find a job.

In my experience it’s about finding the best fit for yourself and the potential company.
