If it doesn’t work we are going to try contracting out the Out bounding and Servicing before they bring back machinist and electricians.

They don’t even clean the bathrooms in the crew rooms anymore much less service the engines.

Aren’t they there to service the units?? I dont get this post.. In Chicago most of the f&o’s were eliminated and replaced with contractors to service units. With exemption to the big shop.

It'll get signed off without getting done, just like it is now. Mgmt doesn't care at all as long as they can meet their numbers and get it in and out as quickly as possible so the Higher Ups are happy. Can't tell you how many locos we've sent back out with defects/low oil/low water. Putting diesel in it is really the only thing they want.

Are they going to bring more people back, or just add it on top of all the other work we are short handed doing?

It would be better if they’d lay me off sooner rather than later so I can get on with my life. I’m tired of all of this already. I’ve got another job lined up.

You have people servicing your units? Must be nice. We’re lucky if the brakes work.

F&O have been doing servicing duties for some time at a few locations. Is this really a surprise to anyone?
