I work in wells in deep water in the GoM and I figured we would layoff a bunch of people but I don’t know anyone who did. So who actually got laid off???

Every reorg concentrates boot lickers. For a sinking company, that's a treacherous trajectory.
Cluefull people leave the place sooner during the reorg, rather than later.
Management never cares though, and that's the best part for them. Oblivion! Fish rots from its head, enough said!
The Avanti sc--w up was they got rid of the people that did anything because all the bu-t kissers promoted in previous reorgs promoted other their bu-t kissers and now the leadership was clueless. They had no idea what people do and eliminated positions that actually contributed.
Three from my group - 11 down to 8. At this rate we should be zero in about 5 years.
