Thread regarding Resideo Technologies layoffs

Can anything be fixed without drastic moves?

It’s amazing to me how long this company has had the same old problems which it hasn't solved yet. There are constantly old problems, and with them old products.
Rezi is stuck in the past and it's becoming desperate. Will it change for the better and is it possible to do so without making some drastic moves?

lol been here for several years now and I can tell you straightaway what Rezi's problem is; we have sh---y engineers and too many non technical managers. Almost all of them. It is as simple as that. All the smart ones stayed with Honeywell or retired or went to Google | Amazon for competitive salaries and modern benefits. We never ever had a single decent creative engineer in BLR or MX, and all the lazy racist f*cks in Melville are stuck in the 1990s, avoiding anything new or scary that might risk their fat salaries, and hiding behind Alice and writing poisonous whiney posts and personal attacks on here. Never seen so many long slow unforced errors or such lazy bitter people anywhere else in my long career. Stop blaming execs; they change all the time and so the only constant here is YOU. At least the new execs seem semi-competent. Maybe they will finally flush away all the bitter old turds still clinging to the resideo an-s and hire some real talent.

Round and round we go…who is the PMO that caused the failure of storm?
Highlander, Goya bean, California surfer or QA mistress?

The comment about marketing is that there is no clear marketing vision or strategy and we need someone to lead marketing that can establish that. If a strong person is put in place it will impact the entire organization, including PMO.

Marketing is doing their jobs, Software and Hardware also. So if those products are not getting out.... WHO is managing them? WHO blames after the fact? Who is obssed by being on top of a pyramid like back in another country?
We all know it... The PMO obsessed with NPIs as the magic snake oil.
NO MATTER which product or hardware... bad management means it wont get delivered. I put all this mess at the feet of PMO who spends their time talking and blaming others but cant explain the difference between a mouse and a keyboard. But hey...

We need somebody that is actually a marketing person to lead marketing for the products business. Since we were spun from Honeywell we have no brand equity with Resideo, no new products that are innovative and industry leading and nobody leading the marketing effort that understands how to do that effectively.

You’re both spot on. But the money is too good … we can all at least get some good income and meet and meet in creating new plans and expand much efforts making sure we don’t get much… STorm showed us how to make a project last and last and never be blamed
Meanwhile FLIR will also get their pockets full :)
So all good around!

You have the same old products and the same old problems because you have the same old people left over from honeywell in the day to day and middle management positions. They don’t want to work and produce new product as long as they can repackage 80’s technology in new plastic AND keep their pension growing. Think about it. Look at the size of the product. It’s old hardware designs and huge, but it’s cheap to produce. The code has probably never been upgraded. It’s a disgrace. Just try to give someone in charge an innovative idea and they will laugh in your face and wait 10 years to implement it, long after the competition already has.

Why change?
We all make so much money by going on multi year projects which have no results while idjits keep talking about NPI as the solution to cure cancer or using agile to cure covid….
So just BS to get a promo and more money even if you don’t have the skill in the head… your mouth can do the work. Look at PMO no tech knowledge but they can fix technology projects … twilight zone?
