We have a bunch of employees who've been here for years (some of them have even been here for a decade or more) and who still don't know how to properly do their jobs? How come they are still here when so many good people have been lost to layoffs? Why aren't we cutting the actual fat?

Wow, this comment feels like ageism in action. Why start something with how long someone has been with a company. People who don't know how to do s**t can join today or be there a while. This sounds vile and takes away from any point they are trying to make.
Agree and add the new people who don’t know what the he-l they are doing and it’s a bad situation. Unfortunately Goeckeler and his cronies have their mission and instead of leading and innovating, they are filling their pockets and covering up the multitude of harassing and inexperienced jokers they have brought in. Sad.
