For those not in the know, the company has slashed retail wages to pre-pandemic lows! However, profit remains at an all time high and corporate job openings have flooded workday while greed has settled in. Stores are required to eliminate upwards of 600+ hours a week starting July 4th while “maintaining a high level of sanitation” and achieving unrealistic VOG “goals” announced on July 3rd. Stores are required to maintain a person in the lobby sanitizing shopping carts that must dedicate a minimum of 112 hours a week (open to close) without giving stores the budgeted hours to do so.
As a result, lines to checkout will be atrocious, Grocery shelves will run empty, sanitizing & cleaning will go forgotten, team members will be required to do more than their fair share, overtime eliminated, part time team members hours will be cut, and stores will need to lay folks off. All this after coming off a record year of profits and an executive bonus year where they receive 2x their salary. And guess what, the new year we are starting is an OFF year and NOT an executive bonus year of all things!
If you think for one second this sh-t of a company cares two F’s for YOU or ME, think again! As the Ohio VP said during the tail end of the pandemic, “it’s time for employees to ask the company what THEY [employees] can do for the company instead of what the company can do for them [Employees]”!
Take a second and ask your store leader how the new fiscal year wage percent looks and if you can get some extra hours next week and see what they say.
I also suggest you screen shot this post, since our fearless executives will surely flag it for removal in no time, just like they do anything that puts them in a bad light. I absolutely HATE what the company is doing to us after all we have done for THEM during this pandemic and risking our lives for so long! All while they sit at home in their PJ’s on Teams Meetings.
