Amazon Offer

Hi all, I have a supply chain / commercial position offer from amazon to work in the southeast and currently work in Oregon. The pay is slightly more, but overall could be less as I will have to cover my family’s health insurance. (Today my wife is an RN and she basically covers us for nothing....in Southeast nurses don’t make as much). Does anyone Have experience that moved to Amazon?

I know I am well paid today (so I don’t leave)...but everything here seems dormant ... all of the ICs have been in the same role for 20 years.

I would not go to Amazon.

I don’t have any experience in southeast. Amazon is a good opportunity. I wish you joined last year and benefited from its stock increase. If you were single, I say,, join immediately. You will be more marketable after amazon for a wide range of companies. One thing I heard about the company is that it also has a toxic culture. It uses focal type system to fire people. So people don’t stay for a long time. Since you are thinking about relocating your family, I suggest you talk with others in Amazon about the group and the manager. If the job is good and can open more opportunities, it is better than staying in intel.
