Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

TMG and LTD layoff all but certain!

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/apple-intel-set-to-use-tsmc-3nm-node-for-2023-products-report

What a joke, Pat talks about IDM 2.0 and Foundry 3.0 and 20 billion investment. But he has no confidence in the internal development of 7nm he is going to TSMC for his most important and high revenue. Who in their right mind would use TMG for foundry.

If I was considering Intel foundry I'd be running to TSMC or Samsung too.

Get your resume polished, 20 billion doesn't buy much time for you.

The problem with the teams in at least some areas in the fab, is that there is no accountability. Too many people spread across too much equipment. So, no one knows a specific person that is in charge of a specific piece of equip. to hold accountable, when a tool sits idle for 2hrs (with wip, for example), for no reason. Too many slackers and not enough workers..The Pareto rule in effect..20% of the workers do 80% of the work.
