Healthcare

Yeah I'm complaining but the massive healthcare deductible sucks. Yeah my wife's surgery is going to cost less than sticker but holy shirt ba--s it's gonna be expensive. The kicker is that it's a super rare condition that has nothing to do with health choices.

Here is an idea for corporate if they are listening. Offer a deductible reduction inventive. For example, a 50% reduction if you meet certain requirements (bmi, annual well checks, bmi lower than the previous year, etc). You'll get people moving to reduce those deductibles.

Also, how is it fair that my 3+ plan deductible is way higher than the 2 person? If you are 3+ it means you have kids. Let's be honest, outside of broken bones kids are pretty low risk.

Yeah I'm venting. I would be keen to see if ge takes a profit or loss from its Healthcare plan. Anyone know?

GE is self insured, so they don't make a profit in the traditional sense.
My premium increased by a factor of four when I retired (age 60 1/2). I was on option 3. It matched what the health exchange would have charged in this state (NY). Deductibles stayed the same.
I agree that there should be incentives for living healthy. The only incentive is for not smoking tobacco (wonder if that applies to ma------a too?). Nothing about BMI, fitness or risky activities (free rock climbing, dirt bike riding, etc.).

You have to remember, we're also paying for the C-suites healthcare, you can't honestly believe they pay anything do you?
