That those who work hard and have good skills are hard to replace in SA as someone says?
I know a person that every company would like to have, a great expert from whom many had much to learn, but he is no longer there. They got rid of him very easily. So, I don't even know how crucial the skillset is when it comes to cuts...

Hey Grinny,
You got that part about not shinning correct. You could be alright if you keep your head down and keep your life simple. Leave your loved ones at home if you can. If you can't,
don't go. You earn your money, just not with honest labor and production.
Be careful: they're extremely revengeful and they don't want you to shine. If you are young, LEAVE. If this happens to be your last job, cut in half that rough estimation of how much you can take.
It is their game and they do it their way. Rarely does it make ' bottom line' sense to the western expat. These people have been bartering and deal making since there has been sand blowing across the Rub Al-Khali. The golden era of the western expat is long gone. @1uvp+1bANmK9K that was unfortunately my case. I pointed out inconvenient truths the first half of my 6 year tenure then decided to just give up and collect my 200. Come June 2020 I was out with no surprise.
When not even management cares about the bottomline, just the next desk they will sit on why should one care?
If I could have a redo I would work for a certification firm. Oh boy! how they love to frame their ISOs, Six Sigmas, Lean Manufacture and all that yada yada...
For now I'm practicing making bead jewelery and graphic design
Who knows?
Will Saudi be another Manhattan?
I know a guy like that too. A very talented, hard working guy. Aramco downsized him because he pointed out some inconvenient truths. I doubt the company will ever get anyone else like him.
Not crucial. Just the skill to say yes, no matter how id--tic the sentence you say yes to, is enough.
That’s harder than it sounds
All beliefs in what is right, or best, or logical, have to be quashed.
If your friend can pull that off he’s in.
