As a railroad electrician I am pretty confident that I will have trouble finding another solid job for a long time to come. I can’t complain much, my life choices have put me in a situation to be stuck here.
I hope I can find something before the layoff though. If it’s this hard to find a job while I still have a job, I can only imagine how hard it would be to find one after I get laid off. What are your experiences with looking for a new job?

You will have no problem finding a job. But definitely do it before layoffs.
