Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Focus on customers

I sometimes wonder if Intel has been thinking about its customers lately? Does it have their needs in mind or does management think this is not an important part of business at all?

Ask any division at Intel how TMG/LTD/PTD treats them and transparency of communication is compared to the leading Foundry?

At Foundry if you don’t treat the customer well or don’t delivery they go somewhere else.

Everyone in leadership rose beating coached to treat their design partners a certain way and we’re promoted and rewarded for that! You think that after twenty plus years of rewarding a culture, leadership and value lack that they change overnight. Yeah does a zebra change its stripes overnight, NOPE. It’ll take leadership purge, strong reinforcement of a new value and culture and then mutiple years to gain customer trust.

But than got to ask you why would any one choose TMG for x86 or anything in Foundry space? Inferior IP, inferior manufacturing scale, higher cost and lastly inferior technology.

It’ll be another five years before they climb out of the BK, BS, Andy FUBAR, but sadly the competition is ahead and spending more with more scale. See nil chance of Intel returning to anything but a distant second. The more Pat wastes valuable resources competing is like Russia trying to compete with US in the Cold War, the outcome is inevitable!

FUBAR that Pat’s current thrust is wasting his energy and leadership, sad as I had hoped more from Pat giving his credibility to pivot the company. Pat won’t have a legacy in 10 years like Lisa has built

One should never focus on customers. They are part of the picture sure, but not the focus in terms of importance. All they do is provide money. They have no other redeemable qualities.

Well, focus on external customers is normally what ppl think
what about internal customers?
BU and design should be TMG customers. At least this model applies to TSMC. But at Intel, it doesn't work this way and TMG always being bossy
so this customer centric does not apply to how Intel works
