Some of the kept associates at my store did not open as many credits, did not have as many clients, did not have as good of an attendance record, etc. as those that were let go.

Performance and the game of if the store manager likes you. Honestly. I was an ovm VERY CLOSE with my store manager which is why I know this information. If you were a gossiper, complainer chances are you probably got cut

I’m sure the store manager probably asked the ovm ops person their opinion. But store manager had final say

Store manager had 100% say in it. They decided which manager to grind back first, which sales associates to bring back in the first round. They had a budget for each department. Hence why good people had to switch departments or at least in my store.
