I personally no longer have any motivation to work here.
How do they expect people to give their best while at the same time fearing for their existence and knowing that they may lose their jobs next month?
That hard work is worth something - we all know by now is just a fairy tale.

So not performing our crafts dedicated work like handbrakes and quality inspections is a good sign to let a corporation know to keep our work contracted? I’m actually at the bottom of the seniority board. I’m fed up with watching high seniority Carmen sit around and laugh about junior guys going home due to poor performance. They actually find it amusing from what I can see! I have a wife and two children that depend on me! If anyone wants to talk about giving a fellow carman a bad name then you should take a good look around the locker room. I don’t want to call my location out but, if I cut cut I’m going to name names and addresses of the guys that were the root causes at to why I got cut. The lazy ones are why the hard working guys like myself are possible getting sent home! Oh I forgot though, if a lazy carman gets caught up then the Union tries to defend them and say the company is mean!!! No sometimes they are just lazy and we need to that action !! Eliminating one poor performer may save five down the road!! Where the Carmean’s Union on that???
Part of the problem? Getting fellow carman a bad name? Sounds like something someone would say when they are on the top of the seniority board......
No handbrakes, no repairs. I’d say that is the mentality that got all our brothers laid off! Thanks for being a lazy f—k!!! You sir and people with your mentality are our Union’s worst problem! Pure entitlement and you give no effort in protecting your work or craft! Garbage to our craft and a reason for the reductions if they take place!
Morale? There is none. We are 3rd class passengers on a sinking ship! You think the 3rd class passengers on the Titanic were optimistic about getting to NYC as the ship was vertical and going down? All we are getting is the big ole sandpaper wrapped di-k in the a-s from these greedy as-----s, all for what? So they can get a bigger, already over inflated bonus at the end of the year.....don’t worry, it will come back to bite them in the a-s in about 5-10 years when they completely Destroy their relationship with customers. Business will be booming at the short lines and they will start hiring soon....
I completely checked out of there. I show up, clock in and that’s it. Minimal effort on my part. No handbrakes, no repairs, no bad orders, no fu--s given. I’m using that energy I would’ve spent on my job, but instead, working on actually getting another job. I’m taking care of me, because the railroad sure as he-l doesn’t care anymore. Bye Felicia!
