It appears this isn't a new store. Three years ago there was an announcement by TransformCo:
"said Cheryl Warren, owner of the new Sears Hometown Store in Wichita Falls. “We look forward to becoming a trusted partner in the community.”

After 3 years of no merchandise, she might've screamed loud enough or taken legal action to get the company to buy her out. Now they can falsely claim it's a "new" store and maybe lure more franchisees into this failing program.
Glad to see that Sears is making a comeback, soon it will become once again the #1 employer in the US.
40 feet to the right, a former Sears Hometown had already filed for bankruptcy in 2020 (store is now called EntertainMART, check it out on Street View)
Thank goodness they don't have an elevator or we'd have to hear about that too!
I pity the current owners of these HTS. Many have closed down due to not being properly supplied. Lost all of these stores in my area.
Anyone notice it’s at the intersection of Lydia Drive and Kmart Drive? Hahaha.
I believe this is a company owned store. They have opened several of these in the lst dew months. . They can’t even supply their current owners with product, how is this going to work? The company owned HTS gets priority inventory? HTS business model is broken and it is just a matter of time before they are all gone.
It's amazing with all the news about the death of Sears there are still people foolish enough to plunk down a big franchise fee to be involved with this zombie company. It doesn't take much research to figure out the Hometown Stores are a disaster. A person would be better off putting their retirement money into lottery tickets. At least then there's a chance of a payoff.
My Father-in-law Had a Sears Hometown franchise back in 2014. in Dayton Ohio. After two years of
fighting with Sears to send merchandise to his store he took legal action against Sears for not
fulfilling there contractual agreement. The end result is Sears Starved him out . He lost $247.000.00
in the process . Sears is no good for buyers or sellers.
The parking lot was empty, just like it will be all weekend. I feel bad for whoever got weaseled into putting down a franchise fee for this store that was doomed to fail from day one.
