How is anyone supposed to make time when manpower is cut to the bone? 12 hour shifts with no days off. Crew boards cut so deep you turn on your rest daily and get deadheaded on your 6th start so you can start all over again and not get time off. Ohhhh I get it. This only pertains to the shareholders. Never mind, carry on peasants Don't bother the shareholders with your plebian needs.

Shut up and be a submissive cuckold for a company that doesn't care about you, or your family.
Make time to lay off sick on the holidays when the boards are exhausted. They like that.
Part of the conspiracy is to offer you knuckleheads medicated wipes to sooth your bu-t pain instead of raises or time off. Go away, no one cares about you or the shoddy "work" you do.
So being pi---d about being treated like garbage means I’m a crybaby ok. I would like to think that since I’m a free American citizen I have the right to complain as much as I so desire. If you work for this RR and have nothing to complain about I’m assuming your part of the top 1% so nobody cares about you! Why don’t you quit and go spend the money you and your co-conspirators stole from the working people.
No one appreciates the condescending trolls who say "shut up & do your job" comments. But in lieu of the union officials actually doing their jobs by improving our work conditions & pay, the only way UP is going to treat employees better is by more current employees quitting along with fewer & fewer accepting job offers. Their threats of contractors is either foolish or a farce. Not even the most dr-g addled, alcoholic, starving illiterate junky from some foreign country is gonna do actual physical railroad work, under railroad conditions, for the hours railroads need long enough to actually learn how to do anything correctly. The reason old timers did the work under terrible conditions was bcuz of the pay. But our pay has not kept pace due to the unions repeatedly failing us for the last 20+ yrs. Border Patrol gets paid 100K+ a year for 40hrs a week. yet more railroaders die at work every year than BP agents. Old timers saw & knew this but stayed to finish for retirement, leaving this mess and us behind. Until railroaders hourly wages so greatly beat out border patrol (for examp!e) pay rate that railroaders will stay to learn and do the work the entire railroad industry is screwed. If the leaders aren't gonna increase the pay, then they better greatly increase the headcount. Make the jobs so physically / mentally less demanding that employees will stay at current pay levels. There is no other way, long term.
Time to take control of your lives, give up the victim routine and be adults. You are in charge of your own destinies. Make a positive change and remember you are all babies and no one cares about you and your issues.
We got another tough guy telling people to "just shut up and do your job". Must think he's Charles Bronson in Death wish. Hahaha
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who found that article insulting. It was clearly written from the perspective of a Monday-Friday 9-5 employee.
And they will let you go whenever possible. One day you are an asset, the next day you are just an afterthought. Anyone thinking that the company will show you any loyalty is delusional. We are all just numbers at corporate waiting to be erased.
The same silliness as lance’s article talking about UP is striving for fairness and equity and blah blah blah. Like UP always says it is just a business so shut up with that bs about how you’re making the world a better place. So full of nonsense
I agree OP these articles are for the folks who get weekends off and are not really important in actual railroad operations. Company news articles would make one believe this company actually cares about employees but we all know it’s only about the flavor of the day and what is important at the moment. There is no way they will get away treating the younger generation as poorly as they have treated the last few. If the do they will be parking trains for storage.
