Thread regarding Northrop Grumman Corp. layoffs

For those who are wondering...

Working here means forgetting ever having any kind of meaningful work/life balance, receiving minimum to no support from your supervisors, receiving minimum to no recognition for your work, and all that while being paid under the industry standards. Think of all of this before you consider joining.

i agree with the first post, there are thousands of opportunities in the company. Myself as a designer, I'll almost be sad when I retire in a few years because the work is fun and engaging with support from the team and management. The only problem, and its common with many large companies, is the difficulties in getting things done in a reasonable amount of time. In my career, I've worked at only 6 companies and this is one of the best jobs I've had.

As a current employee here, I think a lot depends on where you are in the corporation of course we have 90,000 employees some jobs are great while others suck.

not to mention that they will hire you for a job but will loan you out to do other work and if you do not perform they will transfers you to the F35 line so they can easily lay you off. this company's a heap of blah, and any A&P's should steer clear of this company. i was hired as a aircraft maintenance maintainer i was loaned out to work as a aircraft structure technicians and because i was so angry and new to such a skill set i was a poor perform and was evaluated based on a job that i did not get hired to do.
