Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Age discrimination?

A few of the posts here, indicate that a lot of older employees are being targeted on this layoffs!

If a company is laying off a specific age group, may be is worth contacting the workforce commission or a lawyer.

They got sued for age discrimination several years ago after those that refused the voluntary pkg in Dec 2018 were sent packing in Feb 2019. Some who didn’t qualify for the voluntary pkg (over 55 & 10 yrs service) were picked up with the others in Jan/Feb that year.

I’m in my thirties and some little sn-t nosed brat called me a boomer at the Banana Leaf restaurant parking lot last month. I looked at her and was going to educate her on the war and parents having babies after the war and that I was not actually a boomer. Then I thought, what the heck does she care, she is a product of our liberal education system.

It makes no sense to argue with id--ts. Go somewhere where you are appreciated. You will be better off the management is just like that uneducated young woman. Living in a fantasy world and blaming someone else, when in fact they have no appreciation for your contributions to the world (or to the company).

They'll mix it up and get away with it. Now, if you want to get a clear picture, try to look at the hiring process and see if new hires match or are in the same age bracket as the ones they let go. I bet there is a big difference (excluding the ones close to retirement).
