They mentioned furlough rumors in our briefing this morning. Apparently this site was mentioned and it is all “rumors”. They didn’t say it wasn’t true, but that the rumor mill is turning.
There’s no doubt to me that cuts are coming, but how deep and where is the question.

Anyone that thinks they are safe and still has a job, you better look at the 10 trend of operating ratios for the class 1’s, understand what an operating ratio is, then you will see the light. Katy Farmer is after one goal, reduce the operating ratio below 57.9% by Q4 of 21. That means more layoffs, fewer yards, longer trains, and higher profits. That is what PSR is all about. Operating ratios. Period. All the class 1 RR’s are in a battle to have the lowest OR. And in the corporate world, to the victor goes the spoils. Welcome to corporate greed BNSF! Every person for themselves.......

The railroad now is like that “donut” spare tire that comes with a car. Good for a little bit to get you to where you need to go, then not good anymore after that.

We all need to WALK OUT for a week. Conductors, Engineers, Carman, Mechanical and Maintenance of way. That would be BROTHERHOOD. Hit their pockets like they are hitting ours.

Their is so much union bashing on here it makes me sick. Do any of you actually know how much a union rep actually does? Its a thankless job and most the time very overwhelming. I can without a shadow of doubt say they are doing alot more than any of you even know or realize because I am one. Try assisting them and helping out instead of being part of the problem, and asking what are they gonna do for you. Unions are only getting a 24 hour notice on actual cuts as well.

You’d think Union Reps with side jobs that require BNSF to provide tools and consumables would try harder to keep their job. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What’s sad is these GF’s that keep telling everyone I want to be your friend . I’m here to build relationships. Let’s have cooking contest ,and they want to feed you so they can f* this s out of you . And we have guys lined up ready for there s** to get packed every day . And 98% are our union reps.

So 288 craft people are losing their jobs on Wednesday, or is it a blend of both craft and management?

This is a little off topic, but all crafts (local unions) should have a voluntary list of who voted for/against a contract. No one votes these garbage contracts in, yet somehow they pass.
