Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

which is worse???

Which is worse????

  1. Reading comments from ingrate Saudi's who fire the people who built Aramco and continue to do the real work (and then come back to do the work as consultants and contractors)
  2. Working and living with fellow expats who are shrills for the company and are willing to throw their fellow expats under the bus to make themselves feel better
  3. Saudi micromanagement and their meetings to discuss their latest PowerPoint presentation
  4. Saudi driving
  5. All the above

Of course, it's got to be "B".

B for sure. They’re demonstrating what it is like to be around them right on these threads.

An addendum to C:

“ Andrew Wirth, the former CEO of one of the U.S.’s biggest ski resorts, who headed the planned mountain resort at Neom, left in August after determining Mr. Nasr’s leadership style was, “consistently inclusive of disparagement and inappropriately dismissive and demeaning outbursts,” according to a resignation letter viewed by The Wall Street Journal.”

B and C without any doubt. Addendum for B is that if there is one thing worse that's when a person from a certain subcontinent, especially those endowed with a US, UK or Canadian passport.

B and C indeed. You can avoid A and D. But B-C mean cumulative idiocy over the years for all. Will take your mental health away. Be brave and stop lying to yourself. Leave.

  1. All of the above. Why all of thr above.. Saudi culture and extreme religious views, poor working conditions, mannerisms of most locals and non western expats, and living and driving conditions. . I am still shocked by how poor the office conditions are in Dhahran. No floor kitchems, locals washing their feet in the bathroom sinks, old and stained office furniture. Upper management doesn't care because they work in their luxury offices with armed security.

It's E and I will add F. School management and policies are detrimental to our kids. All contribute to the low morale and attrition. In our case the time has come and we are out of here this summer.

B for sure. There is a high chance that any expat who has been at the company for a decade and has moved up with regularity stands on the skulls of his supposed “brothers in arms”.
