So much for the 1.5x weekend incentive we had 10+ call outs on sunday how's it going at y'alls stores?

They may have to pay new employees with no experience a competitive starting wage of possibly $15/per hour plus an incentive. This is probably more than what the people they laid off were making who had experience, etc. It costs to train too. It takes several months to learn everything and to be on your own if you make it that long.
right goes to show nobody cares to work at Macys and all the dedicated employees they let go last year moved on and will never go back. Now big Ole M is stuck with slackers, bums and do nothing.. which is mostly managers anyway.
This company is just getting worse every day. Just wait until the pilot program rolls out this fall to all the stores.
It's gotten so bad that everyone at our store has just stopped answering their phones whenever a manager calls us. We get called so often by managers begging us to come in that it has become kinda embarrassing and we don't want to hear about how low our NPS score is or how bad the customers think service is in our store. Our store has like almost 30 open jobs and they are now offering $250 for referrals from employees, like who would want a friend or family member to have to deal with the same treatment. Everyone is just tired.
It's amazing, look at all the people the stores laid off last summer. Yes, it was an unknown covid world, however there had to be some forward-looking at trends to see that the business was going to come back. Now we don't have enough people to run our stores, don't have enough managers to take care of all the workload, and we have registers that we can't cover so we have lines, and complaints, and massive theft with the shoplifters walking out the door with everything.
Doesn't seem like it makes much of a difference. Our store is always short on help but even the incentive is not going to change people's habits of calling out to enjoy their weekend. Plus with the warmer weather, mask mandates being lifted, and bars/ clubs opening, some people would rather be outside with friends. Our store was very busy and the ones who worked, were overworked. SOS!
bahahahahaha
