Thread regarding Altice USA (Cablevision) layoffs

Others motivating you to leave?

I am tired of people who constantly mention how they found wonderful jobs and those phrases like: "there is life outside the Altice", "I finally got some relief since I left", "everywhere is better than at Altice"...
Either I’ve become too bitter, or I’d rather stay here just so I don’t happen to meet people like that again in some other companies. I mean, I know that I need to go somewhere where it’s better, but are these people for real? Are the jobs falling from the sky so it's so easy to leave? Their comments in which they suddenly idealize other companies do not motivate me at all.

I work for a company that appreciates my skills and wants to have me around, and it's not Altice. I finally got tired of the "LAYOFF" looming over my head and said F-them.

Suddenlink/Cablevision is not what it used to be, the meaning of craftmanship when out the door when the FCC allowed the sell.

It is best to find a job when you currently have one. just saying.

How ever management advice was to take it. So I did I now work 2 excellent jobs. And I will retire comfortably. But it’s easier said than done. It took me a while to get back on my feet. I'll be honest, I miss the job. I miss a handful of the guys I worked with. Crazy enough, I miss my customers. I left last year when they offered the voluntary. 20 years with that place. There are times I think I shouldn't have left because honestly, it's not easy finding work. You're going to take a pay cut I'll tell you that but.....you need to look at the future. The last two weeks before 5/12 we're the most stressful of my career. The idea of not knowing if I was on the list for whatever reason was sickening. Stressing everyday, no matter your seniority, I didn't trust the union. I heard my depots list changed everyday. No rhyme or reason...I'm sure the only guys safe are the stewards. On 5/6 I sent my email saying I was done after 20 years. Even though I am not truly sure this job I have now is it, I will say I have no stress. The team I work with is awesome, even management is strangely cool. Just remember, the only ones safe are contractors. Everyone wants to be an in-house tech.....you need to get out of the house though.

Extremely sad to see this I too left last year My mental health and physical health could not take the pressure anymore, There is absolutely nothing I mean nothing left here except stress and anxiety! I miss the job and tips , my customers, my co workers , who are left’ but I would be. dead if I stayed there. There is nothing but lies and fraud every way you look. You do your best and still not good enough. Not my loss anymore. Long Island especially is the most pathetic loser place to work. There is no direction, no answers, nothing. Me personally not worth the bu-----t or time!

It is extremely difficult to leave I also left last year I miss what I did How ever my family will be priority ! There is absolutely no future here anymore, absolutely nothing every year there is a cultural feeling of being laid off. I personally could not work like this anymore, You’re made to feel infuriated and helpless. I never drank in my life until this company took over. My health was at risk and causing problems at home. I took the package and left I will never ever look back at what this company did. It will cost you your health and well-being. I started over and I’m doing ok. Not what I was making but my health and family immediately improved. You will survive this and will do better Good Luck

I’m not going to lie to you I left last year Because I was told by mangers to take the package! I loved what I did and my customers . I did start over with a much better job with full benefits and a pension. But it’s in your blood it took me over a year to get used to not running around crazy. Life truly is better after Altice it just takes time to get used to a different flow. It truly is strange to work like a human being and treated as such! I wish you the best. Not anything left at Altice! Best of luck to you
