A few weeks ago I read a thread where some employees were let go. I’ve been checking back once or twice a week to see if anyone had replied or if a discussion was started but so far there has been nothing. Did layoffs really happen or was that just rumors? If they really did happen can someone chime in on how many were approximately impacted?

Any news on Harsco Rail?
Harsco aka Clean Earth laid off over 400 employees last week!! I happen to be one of them told on Wednesday the 17th of August! A severance package was given… but my health insurance ended at midnight and not on the 30th of the month.. as if quit or was terminated! No warning of layoffs nothing. Jobless with no answers after 4 years of service… and by the way next month I would have been invested in my 401k for the money the company put in… but when I called Prinicple they told me because I was laid off a month before I was invested the money that HARSCO CLEAN EARTH put in the company would be taking their money back so I’m not able to move it or take the money out… Go FIGURE…
I know of at least 3 contractors that were let go end of June.
I will let you know more if my contacts at Harsco Rail do not dry up.
Note: There is a post in another thread about how the cut backs at Harsco Rail will be relatively slow but steady until the sale of Harsco Rail occurs..
It has been about 3 weeks since last post.
Has anyone heard anything new?
I do know of 1 or 2 other developers that recently left, because they were concerned.
I only know of 3 or 4 developers that were let go at Harsco Rail a few weeks ago. Management did not say anything. Had to talk to people that worked on that project and then verify that they were gone. Some of the other developers are concerned and have heard various rumors, but so far I do not know of anything new. I think the contract workers are the most concerned. When a division is for sale (Harsco Rail), you never know what the high level management is going to do.
