Remember when some of us actually believed we'd retire from Sears?

I don't think anyone has really thought of that in the last two decades, possibly longer.

And from what I have heard, Kohl’s is just as bad. Always pushing credit and rewards signups. Retail is retail (for the most part). Get in to another line of work because B&M is dead and not ever coming back

Also, those people who took SM and ASM jobs didn’t get very far. Kmart abandoned our market a few years later. Two of them went to kohl’s, another dead end dying retailer (the only difference is it looks nicer inside)

Not really. I worked at Kmart while I was going to school. It did the job of paying the bills, but I knew it was never anything, but a dead end job. I was asked a couple times if I wanted to be an ASM or go to SM training, I declined and let some other fool take the “opportunity” 🙄

Nope because I'm not stupid. I knew from the moment I started that the company wasn't going to make it. I did a very simple thing. I applied elsewhere and got a better job.
