I believe that engineering will be reduced down to technical managers. All employees will let go. The manager will take control and kick everyone out.
Then it depends, if sales happen for the product (ENI), the team expands.
From my personal experience at VMware (over 10 years at VMware), these little products do not sell. It ends up open-sourced or terminated.
The lesson for you as an IC, be prepared to jump the ship. ENI is a sinking ship. You all know it. No sales for over 16 months. As pathetic as it gets.
Of course, the blame is on leadership ($D@n$) and his couple managers as he kept team in isolation and failed to deliver.
Lies, deception, and dirty politics can buy you a few months. It is time.
