Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Store closings (will actually be announced April 4th, not 6th):

To be announced (this is an accurate list, sadly):

9153 South Lake Tahoe, CA
1702 Freedom, CA
2928 Key West, FL
3841 Marshall, MI
9808 Hamilton, MT
3438 Avenel, NJ
9423 Bridgehampton, NY
4731 Brooklyn, NY
9416 White Plains, NY

In addition to the above, there's something going on that I'm not currently privy to regarding the four VI stores (3872, 7413, 7793 & 3829) and the one Guam store (7705). There's going to be a change in power, but not name... they're still going to be called Kmarts (for now), but they'll be transferred to a different operating company. Will update if I can get more info on this, but year, the other list is accurate.

And there was no announcement on May 6th! Chris Cronin is a liar! He should be ashamed of himself!

Not a single one of these is currently closing. Not 1.

Costa Mesa wasn't mentioned in the above list, so OP was wrong.

In light of Costa Mesa, who is wearing the egg now?

No, can you link to the Indeed posts?

Did anyone see the closings posted on Indeed? This must mean what the OP was talking about.

So, nothing? Ya, I called BS on this, 1 Week ago. Thought so.

Pacific Time here! May 4 just starting for us! Regardless, we're not getting any closings this Day.

There are still 22+ hours of your May 4 left, Eastern Time. Greetings from Pago Pago, we are enjoying the evening of May 3!

Lol, so we're at May 4, now, in Eastern Time, and of course nothing happened. As expected, this was all untrue.

Looks like someone let the news slip a day early. Closing list has been posted. Very sad day, indeed...

Guam is being sold to an Australian company, just announced in the Austrailian daily.

New list of stores closing.

#87289 Reykjavik
#83992 Akuyreyri
#89927 Husavik
#81000 Vik i Myrdal
#89473 Seyoisfjorour

Rumor was Siglufjorour was going to close due to its proximity to the International Herring Museum. But alas, it remains open.

And we all know that Husavik is a store within the Husavikurkirkja but that doesn't make it any less of a valid store.

Is Chicago Ridge closing? I would hate to lose the Chicago Ridge Taco Bell.

How many stores will Taco Bell have left after this round? Come see my video about Taco Bell stores closing along with me riding garbage trucks up and down the street. I go into great detail about the Mark III auto cruncher that can be found on vintage Garbage Trucks from the 1970's, mostly in the far northern counties of WIsconsin.

Gotta go, Mommy just called from upstairs. The grilled cheese and chocolate Ovaltine is ready.

I just heard from a source high up within the company that TransformCo is liquidating in a soon to be released announcement from Eddie.

The Guam store could easily be sold to Wesfarmers, who owns the K-Mart name in Australia.
The Virgin Island stores, unless they're going to be sold to WalMart or Target, I dunno who'd take them.

Assuming the poster meant May 4th, that's in just 1 week. We'll see soon enough if this is true.

OP, you wrote in your false post: "Will update if I can get more info on this, but year, the other list is accurate.".

But YEAR, what does that even mean?

@1hoe+1aysIhNr "shstems", is that a new word? And no, it is just an under 10000 sq feet, department of Sears (in 1 tiny corner of the basement), so it would never stay open on its own.

@1puf+1aysIhNr That is utterly meaningless, because that refers to a fictitious "future closing list" that some troll just pulled out of his buttocks. I wouldn't put ANY stock into that, because it is simply false and made–up.
You might as well discuss what my kids will look like if I Marry a supermodel, because both scenarios are equally as unlikely to happen.
And even if this premise WAS true (news flash: it isn't), your post is wrong, because it would leave 2 Kmarts in California, not 1. There are currently 4 in that state and OP (falsely) claims that 2 of those are closing, which would leave Grass Valley and Costa Mesa. But again, it's a moot point, because OP's list is fiction.

These aren't sears stores but Kmart, why are you posting this sh–t here?

by

Post ID: @1yob+1aysIhNr

That Kmart COULD stay open inside a closed Sears. Its just that no customers (darn it again, Eddie will line me up against a wall for the firing squad. I meant Members) could get to it. I would foresee no change in sales figures tho...

Lets say this list was true, if the Brooklyn Sears closed, it would finally end the debate about the Kmart store inside. Kmart inside can't stay open without Sears.

by

Post ID: @1lqo+1aysIhNr

@1djq Actually they could stay open since they run their own shstems, but it might otherwise be silly to do so.

Not sure about the other stores, but somethings up for sure. I work in the white plains store, and my manager's is saying something's in the works for us... I'm really hoping this list is incorrect, but I'm getting bad vibes, at least for my white plains store.

Absolutely false. More nonsense. This is not true at all. See you in 1 Week to remind you that.

So which Brooklyn store is closing? The Sears or the KMart? Oh wait, I forgot, the so–called KMart store is in Sears basement. So if Sears closes, they can't stay open. LOL

If this turns out to be accurate (big if), it would reduce Kmart to three stores in New York City, one in New Jersey, one in Florida, one in California, and one in Puerto Rico.
