Here is the link to the maintenance job opening from a staffing Company. I also seen another one from this same staffing company hiring for QA's that was listed from Renton but in the description it said they was looking for people that could work in Everett and be flexible to work South Carolina also if needed. In the job description it said for inspecting the 737 lines. Do they even have 737's in South Carolina? I know they have some in Everett out on flight line getting the ones stored out the door. Boeing using this tragedy to layoff then when no one looking they bringing in outsourced labor.

I worked in a rework shop fixing what got broke during production and shipping. It was a unique job to work on all lines in Everett. Never boring to say the least, but you never knew what you was going to work on next. I was not stuck doing the same thing over and over again and my work area was All production floor space of the factory, inside/ outside of the planes on all lines, The 40-56 (Interiors) Building, The 40-04 building(wings), The 45-01, 45-03, & 45-04 (Painting) buildings, 40-54 (Engines) Building, The in Fuel stalls outside, All of Flightline, 45-335 (The Ba----d) building, And 45-334 (EMC). I seen a lot, learned a lot. While working at EMC (787) we learned some of are shops work was being outsourced and when we asked the manager about it he said Boeing could do that if it was holding back production. Don't know if he is right or not.
Boeing is reducing its footprint in WA. It should not be a surprise to expect more jobs and more functions leaving WA and going to cheaper and more anti-union places. Unfortunately, the quality of work will go down. Come on, the avionics is now being developed in India, some of the integration work is done in India, software and engineering architecture is being done in India. Basically, the bean counters outsource and redistribute work to cheaper places climbing up the value chain. Boeing is becoming very similar to GE... I thin Boeing will merge with some other 'Aircraft' business or get government bailout to stay afloat, but ultimately, BA will fail in the long run. With the brain drain and unwillingness to retain talent, the company is doomed. I do not know when through...
You don’t need quality if you don’t build any parts in house. Just depend on your suppliers quality.
How can Boeing outsource something they no longer have? Didn't Boeing lay off all the QA's years ago saying they were no longer needed. Don't you know at Boeing, Profits come before Safety.
Correction. After looking at the pay rate it looks like Boeing is trying to outsource their flightline guys in South Carolina. Dang y’all should have voted for that union.
That link is for BSC flightline. They are non union. Boeing can’t outsource in Washington because we are union. At least until the contract is up. But either way if you are looking that is a good job starting like 35hr which is good down south.
