Thread regarding Inspire Brands layoffs

Anyone else wishing we could continue working from home?

I realize some are back in the office already. But as beautiful as the building is, was anyone else hoping after a year showing what we could do, Paul and leadership would allow more flexibility?

Sounds like come September, it'll be business as usual, for every office, regardless of what their position has been. I don't know what the support center offices are doing but I'm sure I can't be the only one who was hoping.

One poster said the wise managers and C- levels will allow folks (those who have positions that can) to make the choice.

For nearly two years, we have been able to create a lifestyle that has huge work/life balance perks allowing a much more motivated mindset to get our work done. To take that quality of life away and force us back to the office is not going to be accepting to alot of folks. I for one was much more productive working and personally speaking, my family benefited from my more relaxed nature. That's just a reality for alot of us.

With more and more companies realizing this, and if we don't, how do we attract and KEEP great talent? The latter is a very serious consideration for me and for many I've spoken to.

One of the perks that we had at Dunkin - ability to purchase Dunkin branded retail coffee (grind and beans) at the significant discount. Prices were like $3 a bag with no limits. A lot of us at Dunkin will stock on those around Holidays and cheer up friends and extended family.

With COVID excuse this was taken away ....

Now we do not even have drip coffee at work. You have to bring your own.

I think it's safe to say people aren't happy that a huge perk is being taken away. I'm sure many would be happy continuing with current salary and vaca accrual if it meant being able to keep the early release Fridays.

I’m a Dunkin’ (now Inspire, I guess) employee and I can confirm that our half day Friday’s are being eliminated. People are not happy considering we don’t work 40 hours so we aren’t paid for 40, nor do we bank appropriate vacation and sick time. They will have to figure that part out. People are wondering if pay will increase with the increased hours, and if more PTO will be accrued.

I wonder how their other perks/ bennies compare with ours. I know some people haven't been happy with our 401k etc.

Dunkin will soon loose that local perk as they are transitioning to the Shared Services. By the end of the year they will be officially Inspire employees ( meaning those who remain) with standardized benefits. Enrollment will start in Sept-Oct timeline.

I hear that Dunkin and Baskin have had half Fridays for many years. I wouldn’t mind If inspire extends that perk for us as well

That was my thought. So why are we all expected to be back in the office if we're supposed to be such an innovative company? It's a shame and hugely disappointing we're not trusted enough.

Requiring working in the office is such old notion and dinosaur mentality. It works well for managers who have confidence and control issues.

Smart companies will allow employees who 'can' work remotely to make the choice. A lot of them want to come in. Some full time, some part of the time. A lot of them want to stay home. The intelligent managers and C–levels will be allowing a lot of choice. It will be a HUGE perk to dangle in front of candidates.

I think the OP was referring to once the restrictions have been lifted. It sounded as if we're expected to return when that time comes.

But absolutely, way more productive with less interruptions which seems to be lost on management.

It will be very hard consider limited and scaled back school hours and daycare options. I would expect more flexibility given that country is still under pandemic restrictions and still recovering from the impact. I personally feel more productive working at home vs. option of having non–stop drive by’s and having a wear a mask at the office.
