Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

Any effort to improve something is sabotaged?

But the issue I have with Teradata, and more specifically my boss, is that any effort I make to integrate something new and current into my day job is blocked and I get reprimanded for even trying. >I was told that if I want to work on something other than archaic Teradata technology then I need to do that on my own time. I have explained ad nauseam that I was trying to improve our processes and I was told not to rock the boat.

Only one FAANG uses TD, and they are looking to bail very soon! Why don't the rest need our amazing tech??? 😫 We are sooo diverse and ethical too! /s

The long timers who refuse to do anything differently than what they have done their whole career here are the ones that are ki––––g us. I've been here almost 2 years now and many have no idea what it is like in a modern, successful company. To see them cheering about the "amazing growth" and "good quarters" makes me laugh. You think THIS is big, current technology? You think THESE numbers are anywhere near big? If so, you've never worked at a FAANG company. This stuff is amateur level and a lot of people hear the name and either never heard of Teradata or didn't know we were still in business. I only left a FAANG because of my husband's relocation. When I find the right remote role though, I am out of here!

Teradata's core technology is over 40 years old. The company is, and has been, allergic to innovation during this time. Your are fighting a dysfunctional culture. You can't win. It sounds as if your talent's would be better leveraged at another company.

There is the above–mentioned take,but maybe the new and improved process cuts certain peoples'importance down or presents a risk to newly announced upward earnings expectations??
