Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

How do you manage to work when you feel targeted?

Lately, my manager's behavior towards me has changed a lot and I feel like it's a sign that they will soon inform me that they don't need me anymore. I am very aware of that. In the meantime, I can't find a new job and I'm under a lot of stress. I can't concentrate on work at all and that only makes the situation worse.

How long have you been there? Are you a red badge or just regular colleague? Either way, don't be intimidated, do the best you can do and don't make it easy for them to get rid of you. If you are so stressed out, then maybe it's time to move on. Start getting serious about finding something else, make a plan and start putting in applications, you will be surprised at the response you get if you really try. You don't have to take any offers, just see what offers you get, and the ones that are serious about giving you a chance, will keep trying to get you to go in for an interview. A lady I know that has been with the company over 10 years finally decided it was time to go. The store manager stayed on her like a bad habit. After putting up with it for so long, one day she started putting in applications. She didn't really want to leave so easily because of how long she has been there and the benefits she had. She started getting calls from places she applied at but she kind of blew them off, some still kept calling. Eventually a good offer came in and she interviewed and got the job. She is actually making more money than she was making at Macy's and the stress will be a lot less.
Give it a good try, don't be afraid to take the leap, you don't need to be stressed about your job. Best of luck.
